What are passkeys?
Passkeys are a modern, secure way to sign in without passwords.
How passkeys work
When you create a passkey, your device generates a unique cryptographic key pair. The private key stays securely on your device, protected by your biometrics (Face ID, Touch ID) or device PIN. The public key is used to verify your identity.
Why passkeys are better
- • No seed phrases — You don't need to write down or remember 12-24 words
- • Phishing resistant — Passkeys are bound to the domain, so they can't be stolen
- • Device-secured — Protected by your device's secure enclave
- • Fast & easy — Just use your fingerprint or face to authenticate
